An overrated game that has too much attention for something that already exists in the gaming industry or it uses shows or movies for a bases to gain popularity or the most common, they follow the most popular topic.
Though sometimes the game makers start from nothing and start with an original idea, most games that are considered overrated are games that come out after all the successors. Eventually, it gets so popular the series usually doesn’t die and many people complain that the series gets boring and they request they make a new one to add to the series.
This game is well known for taking advantage of a currently popular topic, none other than Fortnite, this game may be well known for its seasons and chapters system with each one corresponding to the most popular topic of the current day.
What makes this game a sour cake is the aspect of it following the most popular topics, originally when it came out in 2017, it started with a weak community until big streamers stepped into the spotlight like Ninja who was also just starting out. Because of these streamers, this game got its popularity with age. However over time their “ideas” ran out and they started relying on what kids favored more.
Up next is one that is older than both Fortnite and most teenagers . The game is called Call of Duty with the first-ever game coming out in 2003 of October. This game was loved by many when it first came out, but things changed around the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in 2016, although some games afterward were somewhat good many failed.
The reason why this game might have failed is because of the repetition of the stories, most of the games have good stories but they are shorter because the creater is focused on quality not quantity. When major bugs appear creaters refuse to fix them and overlook them which leads to the game losing momentum and popularity. With such high prices for low-quality games, this could be considered overrated and a monopoly.
Though some of these games are well known and loved by most, it doesnt excuse the bad quality they provide for the amount of popularity.
The third-place winner is Apex Legends, this sci-fi-like game came out in early 2019, this game started off strong with the release happening around the minor fall of Fortnite. Though it started with excellent quality it started giving into the demands of many players, ruining the foundations and becoming a pay-to-win game.
Many may say this game deserves to be on a Top 5 games list. This game did have the best player base but with the pay-to-win game play a toxic player base came to exist in it. This is also why it may be considered overrated as even young kids play it like the game Fortnite.
This leads to Clash of Clans, this game came out August 2, 2012, this game managed to jump to the top for a period of time. This game enrolled the idea of pay to win causing many to lose to money. The reason why this game is overrated is due to the amount of time it was out, but it was never popular.
Clash of Clans didn’t try to appeal to the player base, instead, then creaters ignored the players with their bug reports and feedback. Even with there not being any improvemnts people still recommended it and made it popular until it died off last year.
This next game relied too heavily on the community and streams, which led to the downfall of Brawl Stars, with this game coming out in December 12, 2018. This game shook the once stable gaming community. Many people jumped to it immediately with the first streamer to stream the game being a streamer called Pokimane, she was the reason for the first uproar.
The game started off strong like most games do, Brawl Stars eventually got greedy and became a scrooge, attempting to save money while also not fixing bugs and glitches for a while. Many players gained an advantage by paying real-world currency.
