This ‘24-’25 school year, freshman students will join the upperclassmen “On The Boardwalk,” at semi-formal on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
This came about as a result of the recent construction on the school. The parking lot, where Freshman students would have been dropped off, is under construction, which would make transportation to and from the separate semi-formal exponentially difficult.
From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., students will gather in the field
house for music, games, snacks, and of course, dancing. The projected student turnout is in the 1000’s.
Though some are concerned about the freshmen joining, the student council seems confident that the merge will be well received.
“I think the freshmen are just as much a part of the school as anyone,” Student Council Co. Sponsor Mrs. Brubaker said, “There’s a lot of benefits to it, I believe.”
Despite the changes, the contents of the gathering will stay relatively unchanged from previous years. Attendees should expect pool tables, basketball shootouts, Cookie Cottage Cookies, and various other forms of entertainment.
“I’m a bit nervous. I feel like there might be a difference in maturity levels through the grades,” senior Rebecca Kiplinger said, “But, if it goes well, I think this could be great for Carroll. I’m just hoping that it turns out to be a positive change.”
Students are encouraged to find their best beachy-formal attire and invite their friends.
