As the weather gets colder and snow starts to fall, some have begun to put up twinkly lights, Christmas trees, garlands, and wreaths while others wait to decorate their houses until later.
Since everyone decorates at different times when exactly is the right time to start decorating for Christmas?
The right time to decorate is after Thanksgiving:
Fall deserves to be celebrated as well. Halloween and Thanksgiving deserve to have their moments in the Fall season. Skipping past them to get to a favorite holiday just means that you’ll be dealing with Mariah Carey while eating Turkey.
Decorating for Valentine’s Day in January would be ridiculous so why do the same with Christmas? Since there’s so much for most people to decorate, we feel like breaking up the work over a few days is the best way to go.
We suggest decorating outside first, so you don’t have to go out in the cold for multiple days. Then, do the inside of your house. When decorating the inside of your house, we suggest decorating the Christmas tree last for that magical moment.
The right time to start decorating is — whenever you want to. (Which, in my case, is as soon as possible):
Christmas decorations are a hassle to get up, and getting only a month out of them, for some people, isn’t as worth it. It makes total sense to put them up earlier!
Thanksgiving is one day and is not a very festive one at that. Plus, you get to annoy everyone who gets uptight about “early” decorations!
Christmas is a time to be joyful and celebrate, surrounded by family, friends, and the spirit of giving.
