Senior Jersey Paul just hit a huge milestone, becoming the seventh player in Carroll High School girls’ basketball history to score 1,000 points. Her accomplishment has her teammates and coaches super proud and excited.
Reaching this milestone shows just how dedicated, hardworking, and talented Jersey is on the basketball court. This shows she’s been consistently great throughout her high school career.
One of Paul’s teammates Lillian George, has been playing with Jersey since her freshman year and was thrilled to be on the team when she scored her thousandth point that caused the whole team to jump with excitement.
“That was exciting because I’ve played with her for three years since my first year, and it was really good to see her reach such a career milestone,” George said.
Paul’s leadership and basketball smarts have been key for the team. Her ability to read the game and make smart plays has made her a huge asset. Off the court, her fun personality helps keep the team close and motivated.
“From the first year, she would always put me in my place because I was a freshman. Sophomore year, she helped me become a leader and melt into the role that I have today,” George said.
Paul’s competitive spirit has pushed George to be more competitive and helped her grow as a player, as Paul’s leadership has been huge for both individual and team performances.
“She’s not afraid to, yell at me, and then team performance… I think she got us going. You know, she would hit, and then everyone would start hitting, and it was just like a dominant effect from there,” George said.
Paul’s drive and determination have set a high standard for the team, encouraging everyone to push themselves and do their best.
As Jersey Paul continues to shine on the court, her legacy keeps getting stronger. Scoring 1,000 points is not just a personal milestone but shows how much she has worked and led her team. Her journey is an inspiration to other athletes and shows what you can achieve with hard work and passion.
