A nerdy boy from modern-day New York, a blue-collar worker from the 21st century, a mobster from the 20’s, and a gym bro from the 80’s. Team up with George Washington and Leonardo Da Vinci to fight against a giant Julius Caesar and Kanghas Kang. To defend the capital city in another world.
This is a plot point from a Dungeons and Dragons campaign available on YouTube, Isekai D&D. This particular podcast/web series recently wrapped up its 61-episode story.
Starting back in November of 2021. This series was the second D&D story that the dungeon master, Daniel Rustage, did. The first one is a story taking place inside the fictional world of One Piece, but that is not what we’re here to talk about.
Isekai D&D had 4 players, each with their own YouTube channel.
BriggsADA played Norman, the nerdy boy mentioned above. Class: Wizard.
Danielgreenreviews: Played the shark, the mobster, Class: Fighter.
Tekking101 played Old Tony, the blue-collar worker. Class: Paladin.
Shwabadi played Cody, the gym bro, Class: Druid.
Each class mentioned above gave each of the players uniqueness beyond the personalities their players gave them.
For Example, Cody played the druid, druids are usually classified as nature lovers and get magic spells and abilities related to nature and wildlife. So Shwabadi made him a vegan to play farther to his class.
Or Norman the Wizard, was the only player who actually understood their situation of being in another world. Wizards are usually smart people due to their magic being from constant study.
The Main appeal of Isekai D&D is seeing the players interact with each other and the DM as several different inhabitants of this world that he has made. But there is more to it than that, seeing the friends get together and have fun and goof around, it’s entertaining.
There is a point in the story where something major happens, and you would think that the characters would take this seriously, right? Not in D&D, especially not in Isekai D&D. They instead of taking this seriously, spent over an hour getting suits in the game to look their best for the event that could alter the story to extreme degrees.
This was not the most off track they got during this campaign.
Isekai D&D is available to watch for free on YouTube on the YouTube channel Rustage2. I seriously recommend watching it or at least giving it a chance.
It’s extremely entertaining and funny.
