The fashion trend that has come to dominate the beginning of this school year is that of white shoes with white socks or no socks at all. The trend is sported mainly by girls, but male Chargers fitted in this style walk the halls as well.

Students find that the shoes stand out without distracting from the rest of their outfit.

“I like that they go with anything,” said senior Bailey Hunt who was wearing the shoes. “No matter what I put on, they match.”

The popularity of this trend is stronger than just the Carroll student population, stretching across the country and lasting for multiple years already.

According to Piper Jaffray’s “Taking Stock With Teens” 2018 survey, Nike is ranked as the preferred footwear among teens with Vans taking second place. This popularity lends itself to the rise of athleisure and the resurfacing of retro trends.
