Finals are beyond the horizon, they are knocking at the door. However, there is one final that (if you plan right) you do not have to go to school for.
That class is of course study hall, and the way to skip differs from years prior
This year in an attempt to make it easier for the office, they are doing 2 different papers that need a parent or guardian’s signature. Periods 1-3 have the option of either turning in a pink paper that you get in the study hall room, or having your parent or guardian call in the morning notifying the office. Periods 4-7 have a green paper that they can pick up in their study hall rooms, and do not get the option of being called in. If you turn in the form and miss the class, it is no different from any other absence and will count as one of your ten undocumented absences.
Although it still counts as an undocumented absence, if you fill out the proper paperwork or get someone to call in, you can either leave school early or have an extra long student success time.
Unlike how the study hall final works, Student Success Time has remained the same. During 8:35-12:00 Tuesday-Thursday of finals week, the time is yours (although finals really don’t start till 12:20). You can sleep in, get food, study at home, or even go to school and study. The world is your oyster.
Assistant principal Daniel Lestinsky said Student Success Time is a way to “spread out finals without making a complex schedule” and puts “less-stress” on students and teachers.
After Student Success Time, of course, is finals.
If you have been unable to check those emails, the final schedule is as follows.
Use the time as wisely as desired, and good luck on finals!
