It’s the last week of February in Indiana, and that means one thing, IHSAA sectional basketball.

The Chargers are in a sectional that includes teams like Snider, Northrop, North Side, Carroll, and Host East Noble.  Matchups are as follows:  In game one at 6:00 tomorrow is Snider vs East Noble. In game two the Chargers take on the North Side Legends.  The Winner of CAR/ NS will play Dekalb on Friday, and the winner of EN/ Snider will play Northrop.

Looking at how the Chargers have played sectional opponents this season has been promising for the team, with wins over everyone in the sectional except for Snider.  This is a familiar situation for the Chargers as last year the team went 5-0 against teams in the sectional but got beat by 30+ to North Side in the first game last season.

The Legends and Chargers have already matched up once this season with the Chargers pulling a 66-60 win out at North Side.  That was one of the biggest wins of the season for the Chargers and they have been building momentum since then winning 5 out of their last 7.  In that stretch of games which included wins over Homestead, New Haven, Northrop, Huntington North, and the aforementioned North Side, the Chargers showed that their offense can hang with anybody in the area but the defense is what is holding this team back right now.

Friday was a good example of what happens when the offense is clicking as the Chargers played Luers very tough for 3 1/2 quarters before the defense broke down and the Knights pulled away.

Look for a great matchup tomorrow as the Legends try to stop the Chargers from Winning the first playoff game under Ryan Abbott.
