Dear Eighth Graders:
Starting high school sounds scary unless you’re prepared.
Coming into high school can feel overwhelming because of the population difference
It’s not that bad once you get used to it.
If you come unprepared for high school it’s going to make it so much harder to get adjusted.
Being unprepared is not knowing your classes or where they are, not having your supplies, being late, and not being able to learn your way around the school.
Coming prepared makes your high school experience so much easier.
If you stay prepared and stay out of drama, high school will be a great experience.
Go on the school tours to find your classes and to learn your way around.
I recommend having a big and comfortable backpack because having all of your stuff on you is much easier than going back in fourth to your locker.
A bookbag is the way to go because the halls are crowded and you’ll be late to your classes and two so you don’t forget anything for class.
But once you’re prepared for high school, it just flies by and it’s not scary.
I know people think it is going to be scary because of the amount of people and how they think they’ll get judged by them, but being completely honest they are not paying attention to you and don’t care what you do, unless you give them a reason to.
Drama.
Try your best to stay out of it as best as you can.
It just makes everything more stressful and more difficult.
If you have problems with someone just let it go and stop being friends with them.
You’re not always going to have the same friends from middle school and that’s okay some people just drift away. In high school there’s so many people that you’re going to make new friends or meet new people weekly.
If you stay prepared and stay out of drama, high school will be a great experience.
Hopefully
A freshman girl who is just trying to figure it out
