Being a twin is a unique experience that comes with a mix of fun and challenges. From sharing special bonds to facing the confusion, twins navigate life together in a way that sets them apart from others.
“One of the most remarkable aspects of being a twin is the strong bond that often exists between siblings. Twins share a special connection that is hard to describe. From finishing each other’s sentences to knowing what the other is thinking without saying a word, twins often have an unspoken understanding that strengthens their relationship,” said Tina Smeltekop a Freshman and an identical twin.
Being a twin can be difficult because if one twin goes down the other twin goes down too.
“Growing up as a twin can also come with its share of challenges. From constantly being compared to one another to dealing with mistaken identities,” said Freshman Reba Smeltekop
Twins often face unique social pressures. The natural sibling rivalry that exists in many families can be heightened when siblings are the same age, leading to competition and conflict.
The National Institutes of Health said “42 percent of children born on earth is a twin.”
“Despite the challenges, being a twin also means having a constant companion who understands you like no one else. Whether it’s navigating the ups and downs of life or sharing life’s milestones, having a twin by your side can provide a sense of comfort and support that is unparalleled,” said Mr. Dave Ginder a math teacher who is an identical twin.
Being a twin comes with changes, but you can also have twice the fun when your sibling is around.
