Jacey McLaughlin

Jacey McLaughlin, Features Editor

Jacey McLaughlin is a senior at Carroll and is on the swim team, in Fashion class, and this is her first time on the Carroll newspaper, where she would like to combine both Fashion and newspaper in order to become a Fashion journalist someday.

Jacey swims short distance freestyle 50 yards and 100 yards. She got into swimming when she was 7 years old. “My grandma had a lake and I realized that no one else in my family swam, so I thought I would do something different,” she said.

While she doesn’t have a job through the school year, she works for the NACS Natatorium in the summer giving lessons to Freshmen students in summer gym.

Jacey has a passion for fashion. She would like to have a job in the Fashion industry. “I would love to work in fashion someday, something with public relations or social media marketing,” she said.

If she would work in marketing for fashion, she said she would love to work for a high-end fashion company such as Armani or Tommy Hilfiger. She also says that if she would go into fashion journalism, she wants to work for Vogue or Teen Vogue because “That’s what I read when I was younger”.

Jacey also adores Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift. She went and saw Shawn Mendes this August, almost a year after she first bought the tickets in September of 2016. “When he first came out, oh my gosh. I was freaking out,” says Jacey. “Honestly it was more excitement than anything else.”

She has also seen Taylor Swift in three different concerts; Speak Now, Red, and 1989. “I fell in love with her in second grade. I heard a song on the bus about a girl wearing t-shirts in the bleachers and I told my mom I wanted the song.”
